Mary Purgett Obituary

Sister Mary Dolorita Purgett, C.S.J., 95, a 73-year resident of The Congregation of St. Joseph of LaGrange, passed way September 1, 2008 at Lexington Healthcare Center of LaGrange. Sister Dolorita was born January 3, 1913 in Watseka, IL. She was a teacher of Religious education. Sister Dolorita served in the Ministry of Education at the Elementary and High School level for approximately 25 years. At Nazareth Academy in LaGrange, Sister taught in the Religion and primarily Commercial Dept. preparing young women for the business world. Sister Dolorita also served as Bookkeeper and Treasurer for the Sisters of St. Joseph in LaGrange for 12 years, as well as various other capacities in the business offices of the Community Schools. For the last 25 years, Sister Dolorita served in clerical support services in the Sisters' Health Care Dept. She is survived by 4 nephews and 1 niece. She was preceded in death by her parents and by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Congregation of St. Joseph, 1515 W.
