Mary Newsom Obituary
Mary Ellen Newsom, nee Douglass, of Bolingbrook. Beloved wife of Donald Newsom and the late Richard J. Moravec. Loving mother of Paul(Liz)Moravec and Andreanna Moravec. Proud grandmother of Hunter, Carter, and Tanner Moravec.
Mary Ellen was a member and Orchestra Manager for the Downers Grove Choral Society. She was President of Sokol Chicagoland and an Officer in the Central District of American Sokol Organization. Mary Ellen was a beloved music educator to hundreds of students.
Visitation Sunday, November 20th 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 4:00 p.m. Sokol Service and a 6:00 p.m. traditional funeral service at Toon Funeral Home, 4920 Main Street, Downers Grove, IL. Interment will be Tuesday, November 22nd, 10:30 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, Woodstock, IL. Please meet at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Central District Sokol Merit Award Fund, 3909 South Prairie Avenue, Brookfield, IL 60513 or the Downers Grove Choral Society, P.O. Box 655, Downers Grove, IL 60515(www.dgcs.org).
