Mary Guzik Obituary

BETHESDA, Md. < Mary M. Guzik passed away on April 20, 2007 in Bethesda at the age of 92. A native of Auburn, N.Y., she was a 1932 graduate of Auburn High School where she was a violin soloist at many events and concerts. Mrs. Guzik worked for a number of years for the New York State Thruway Authority, residing in Delmar prior to retirement. She also played violin in the Delmar Symphony Orchestra for several years. Married to her high school sweetheart, the late Lt. Col. Charles G. Guzik, USAF (ret.) for 66 years, she is survived by her loving family, including her daughter, Dianne Healey, of Washington, D.C.; her son, Lt. Col. Thomas Guzik, USAF (ret.), of Atlanta, Ga.; her grandchildren, Alexis Guzik, Daniel and Caroline Healey; her son-in-law, Peter F. Healey and her daughter-in-law, Karen Guzik; her uncle, William Balash; and numerous other relatives and friends. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Annunciation, 3810 Massachusetts Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 21. Inturnment will take place at 11 a.m. in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
