My Uncle marty, so full of life, so humorous, so loving. I remember the time we went to a dinner at his house and we saw the racoons that came to his back yard, which he enjoyed the nature show each night,we enjoyed the dinner that Aunt Lenore and her mom had made, including fresh homemade bread ,it was so awesome and the amusing stories of their ski trips especially the special sculpture Aunt Lenore had made of a skier crashed into a snow hill, in humor of a crash that Uncle Marty had..with Love and he really loved it as he made note to us all..we Loved him and will treasure the memories we have of him, although we hadn't shared as many times with him as we would have liked, those that we did are were very memorable and will always be in my heart as something I hold dear and I Loved my Uncle Marty Very Much...I have a very special place in my heart for him and he knows...Uncle Marty , we will see each other again, Love you much, nancy

Our cousin Marty and his wife Lenore graciously let me stay with them for our Mom's funeral (Christine Halac). Marty was the son of our Uncle Walter on our Dad's side. We often teased him because he looked like a double for Jeff Chandler, a popular movie star of the time......very handsome!
I was so impressed with their relationship when I stayed with them and of the wonderful talks we had about family and politics. It was great to see such a devoted couple. They worked together to create a beautiful woodland garden with a true love for flowers and birds in their Chicago suburban home.
Marty seemed preciously lost in his own world there, and Lenore had her favorite flowers. They showed me their compost pile and bird houses. The yard has been visited by a lot of local wild animals, including deer. It seemed like a little paradise for them, so I'm sure Lenore is just devastated to be without her partner in life.
And we will miss him also……..Cyndi (Halac) Caris,………. Suzanne (Halac) Pruss), Lisa (Caris) Simic, and Tina (Caris) Aurora.

Our prayers and thoughts go out to Aunt Lenore. Uncle Marty, the baby of the family, had a great sense of humor and I will always remember his laugh.
