Fredrick Horneber Obituary

Fredrick M. Horneber, 55, of Auburn, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005, at home with his family.

He was born on July 9, 1950, in Bay City to Emil and Irene Horneber. He was a lifelong resident of Williams Township, retiree of UAW 699 in 1998, Saginaw Steering Gear, active member of Grace Lutheran Church, Auburn and an avid sportsman. On July 10, 1971, he married Pamela Spindler, she survives him.

Also surviving are his daughter, Barb (Jeff) Vennix; son, Michael (Bethany) Horneber; grandchildren, Melissa, Jacob and a grandson on the way; mother, Irene Horneber; brothers, Don (Pam), David (Cheryl) and Mark (Pam) Horneber; mother in-law, Barb Spindler; three sisters-in-law, Carla (Jim) Richards, Claudia (Alan) Partlo; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday Oct. 8, 2005, at Grace Lutheran Church (Price and Ruth Sts.) Auburn. The Rev. David H. Reed will officiate, with burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Williams Township.

Fred's family will receive friends at the Auburn Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. today from 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday from 2 to 8 p.m., on Saturday afternoon, Fred will lie in state at the church from 12 p.m. until time of service.

Instead of flowers, memorial envelopes for Bay Hospice Advantage, Grace Lutheran Church and School and the American Cancer Society will be available at the funeral home.

One of my best fishing trips ever was with Fred, at Frankfort. Everytime I fish Frankfort, which is quite often, I think of him. What a great guy. I sure had many great times with Fred.
