We are all placed on earth as spiritual beings on a human journey. The lives we live are here and gone in a flicker. Our legacy is carried on for generations to come. Martha, we only knew you in your later years in life. You brought your unique personality, sincerity, honesty and laughter into our lives when you visited us with Alice in our home for your massages. I hope you know that you have touched our lives
as well and will be missed.

Alice,
You and your family have my deepest sympathies in this time of grieving and loss. Be strong and carry on the memories, compassion, and strength that your mother was to the family.

Grandma - As I said my tearful goodbyes that faithful morning I couldn’t help but think of all wonderful memories I will hold in my heart forever - the sleep over’s at your house, Ice skating that was watched and the smell of spaghetti walking down your hall... my heart was sad. Walking out a sense of joy washed over me and a smile knowing that you are in heaven with god and taking good care of our sweet Melanie. Knowing you are holding her and watching us every step of the way, that comforts me and brings a huge smile to my face. I love you and not a day will go by that you will not bring a smile to my face.

In the end, the best way to measure the success of your life is to have loved well and to have been well loved. And that in your passing you leave a special place in the hearts of your loved ones that no one else could ever fill. Well done, Mom, well done, your life was a great success. Thank you for being such a great Mother to Alice, Dave and I. We know it couldn’t have always been easy having to be both Mother and Father to us. Thank you too, for being the wonderful Grandma you were to our children. We love you and will always miss you. Rick and Vikki

In death we remember life and when I think about your life, Nanny, I marvel at the things you saw and the experiences you had. You lived with such dignity and respect; thank you for your love and excellent example of a life well lived. After a lifetime of hard work, you deserve some eternal rest. Please watch over us as you always have Nanny. I love you and will keep your memory and example close to my heart.

Alice,
My deepest sympathies to you and your family. Although your mom and I only met on a few occasions it was enough for me to know what a wonderful woman she was and how important her family was to her. May you cherish the wonderful memories you have.

Nanny: I thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new, I thought of you yesterday and days before that too. I think of you in silence and often speak your name, I have been graced with all the memories and see your picture in a frame, God has you in his keeping and in my heart you will remain.
