MARLENE TAFT Obituary

TAFT--Marlene R., of Great Neck, NY, died on May 25, 2012. Devoted wife to the late Robert S. Taft and companion to the late Hy Sussman. Marlene graduated from Great Neck North High School in 1954 and received her BFA from Cornell University in 1958. After raising her children, she went back to school to receive her Masters in Education in 1991 from LIU. She enjoyed volunteering as a museum docent for the Nassau County Museum of Fine Arts and worked for Lord & Taylor's for over 11 years. She loved to travel collecting art from far ends of the earth. Survivors include a brother, Jack Medwin and sister-in-law, Maria Medwin; a daughter, Dr. Leslie Aiuto and son-in-law, Anthony Aiuto, a son, Peter S. Taft, Esq. and daughter-in-law, Tammy Taft; five grandchildren, Gabrielle McCaig, Stephanie Aiuto, Brandon Taft, Matthew Taft and Zachary Button; and many dear friends, including Barbara Anderson and Audrey Lambert. Funeral services will be held at 11:30am on Monday, May 28, 2012 at Riverside-Nassau North Chapels, 55 North Station Plaza in Great Neck, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the American Cancer Society.
