Marilyn Schmutzler Obituary
Marilyn Fay Schmutzler, (nee Davidson) age 89. Beloved wife of Herbert H.; loving mother of Herb Jr. (Elise) and Eric (JoElle); cherished grandmother of Brittany Schmutzler, Melanie (Rodney) Thill, Kimberly (Ben) Hohenstatt, and Eve Schmutzler; great-grandmother of Howie and Hugo Thill; Marilyn was preceded in death by siblings Dorothy (the late Watson) Smith, Douglas (Joan) Davidson, and Virginia (the late Daniel) Topler. Marilyn sang soprano in the trio "The Fosterettes". She enjoyed singing in the United Methodist Church Choir, travelling with the Musichorale, and performing in many local musicals. Some of her favorite things to do were to travel with her husband as well as visit local libraries with her granddaughters. In recent years, she enjoyed finishing crossword puzzles. Visitation will be held Friday, February 17th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave., Darien. Lying-in-state Saturday, February 18th from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service, 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Downers Grove, 1032 Maple Ave. Downers Grove, IL. 60515. Interment immediately following service at Clarendon Hills Cemetery, 6900 S. Cass Ave. in Darien. In lieu of flowers, donations to Musichorale would be appreciated. My condolences to the entire family David and I just found out today auntie was a wonderful human being and I know Bud or thought so highly of her as well.
