Marie Markunas Obituary

Marie Moore Markunas nee Stillo, 78, of Naples, FL, formerly of Elmhurst. Beloved wife of the late James F. Moore & the late Edward P. Markunas; loving mother of James G. Moore, David M. (Diane) Moore, Michael P. (Amy) Moore and Michelle L. Moore; grandmother of Brianna, Andrew, Mallory, Patrick, Emma & Geoffrey; sister of Dolores (Robert) Weishaupt & Palma (the late Phillip) Bucaro & the Charles Stillo; sister-in-law of Marian Stillo; aunt of many nieces & nephews. Marie was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and a woman of great strength and dignity. After the death of her first husband she worked hard to provide for her four children. She was blessed to have been married to Edward and enjoyed their retirement in Florida, volunteering their time and tireless energy to the St. Vincent DePaul Society (where she served as Conference President), the Naples Italian American Club, the American Ex-Prisoners of War and the Combat Infantry Veterans Association. She was greatly blessed with six beautiful, healthy and precious grandchildren who were her greatest joy. All those fortunate enough to know her were blessed in an extraordinary way. We loved her greatly and will miss her more than words can say. Visitation at Ahlgrim Funeral Home, 567 S. Spring Rd., Elmhurst from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday. Prayers Saturday, December 12, 10:15 A.M. to Visitation Church. Mass at 10:45 A.M.. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials will be appreciated for the Humane Society.
