Marie Rose Daly

Marie Rose "Marti" Daly (nee Martinek), age 91, passed away peacefully at her home on September 30, 2015.

Born on July 9, 1924, in Chicago, Marie has lived in Indian Head Park for more than 20 years. Beloved wife of the late Denis Daly who she married in 1954. Loving mother of Jack (Lynne), of Joliet, IL, Carol Daly of Jeffersonville, IN, and the late Mark (Nicole Alex) Daly of Champaign, IL. Proud grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of 8. Fond sister of Helen (Thomas) Neiss of Ft. Walton, FL; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marie attended Blessed Agnes grammar school (now St. Agnes of Bohemia) and graduated from Steinmetz HS. Former secretary, bank clerk, Marshall Fields uniform division at the Merchandise Mart, Ekco Products and finally a secretary at Butler Brothers in Chicago. In later years Marie owned and operated the Donut Pantry in Berwyn with her husband Denis and was an agent for Remax Realty of LaGrange. Longtime member of Adult Girl Scout Troop #007, St. John of the Cross Saintly Seniors, Ladies Auxiliary of Ceska Beseda and numerous other organizations.

The family is extremely grateful to Marie's caregiver, Catalina "Gloria" Tong and hospice nurse Rosemary Kolencherry for their compassionate care.

Family and friends will be received at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester (2 blks West of Mannheim Rd.) on Friday, October 9, 2015, from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friends are asked to meet directly at St. John of the Cross Church, 708 W. 51st St., Western Springs on Saturday, October 10, 2015, for 9:45 a.m. funeral Mass. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Memorials in Marie's name to St. John of the Cross Catholic Church for the St. Anastasia Fund for tuition assistance appreciated.
