Maria Nucifora Obituary

Maria (Gulino) Nucifora, 69, of Newington, wife of the late Santo Nucifora, died Wednesday (May 2, 2001) at the UCONN Health Center, Farmington. Born in Canicattini Bagni, province of Siracusa, Italy, she was the daughter of Emanuela (Amenta) Gulino of Hartford and the late Santo Gulino and lived in Hartford for many years before moving to Newington. She was formerly employed by Walbaum's and Royal Typewriter Co. Besides her mother she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Giuseppe and Lucy Nucifora of Newington; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Giuseppe and Santina Gulino of New Britain, and Thomas and Giulia Gulino of Hartford; a sister, Rosalia Cianci of Newington; a granddaughter, Angelica Nucifora; a sister-in-law, Grazia Lechler in Germany; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral is Saturday at 9 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Newington. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours are TODAY from 6-9 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel.
