Maria Nikolic (nee Lonec), age 88, of Western Springs. Beloved wife of the late Lazar Nikolic. Loving mother of Danica (Michael) Weyer and Olga (Keith) Sinram. Wonderful grandmother of Ashley (Jeremy) Taylor, Brandon (Sarah) Sinram, Chandler, and Elise Weyer. Super-grandma to Quinn. Devoted sister of the late Franc (Maricka) Lonec, Bogomir (Brigita) Lonec, Olga (the late Ferdo) Navodnik, Darinka (Tomaž) Kamensek, Jože (Helena) Lonec, and Zdravko (Jasna) Lonec. Dear aunt, great-aunt, and cousin of many in the US and abroad. Maria was preceded in death by her parents Franc and Olga Lonc. Visitation 4 to 9pm Friday, April 26th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Family and friends are to meet at St. Alphonsus Church, 605 S. Danica, It is with great sadness to learn of the passing of your mother. I remember her being a great `sport´ and graciously laughing at my snarky, often inappropriate, jokes. Her laughter only encouraged me to continue with my antics. I can see where you received your wit and humor. Anyway, I just wanted you to know that I appreciated her, too. May you find solace in understanding that she´s in the right place. How on earth could she not be?
