Marguerite "Peggy" O'Brien, 77, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grand mother, aunt, sister, gourmet cook, world traveler, knitter, wine connoisseur, card shark, grandchild spoiler and cat lover, joined our heavenly choir on October 20, 2015, in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.

She was born August 4, 1938, and resided in Allentown and Reading, Pennsylvania; Glen Ellyn, Illinois; and Chesterfield, Missouri.

Surviving are her husband of over 50 years, John; children, Sean (Kathy), Erin (Steve) Basler, Kerry (Amy), and Holly (Tony) Ligenza; grandchildren, Jack, Blake, Annie and Evan, Jason (Marie) Fox and Morgan Fox, Cassie and Carly Basler, Halley and Connor McLean, Michan O'Brien, Jessie and Mary Ann Ligenza; and great-grandchildren, Anthony and Isabella Fox. She is also survived by beloved nieces, Jennifer (Joel) Judlin, Tina (Charlie) Gentile, Deborah Golden, and Alison O'Brien; and nephew, John (Susanne) O'Brien.

Predeceased by her parents, Rudolph (Viola) Kopfer, and Ruth (Frank) Geroulo; her sister, Kathy (Jim) Lurkins; and beloved cats, Calico, Kitten, Tigress, Miss Kitty and Murphy.

A Junior Master bridge player, it is expected that Peggy's previously departed friends have a seat and a glass of wine waiting for her at the card table.

Funeral Mass Saturday, October 24, 10:00 a.m. at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, Glen Ellyn. Inurnment private.

Donations may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, or to any animal rescue or shelter. Adoption of a cat or dog from the shelters is encouraged.
