Margery Holland Obituary

Margery E. Holland, 88, of Berwyn, IL. died Saturday May 15, 2010 from complications of a stroke. Mrs. Holland was born Margaret Elizabeth Martin January 21, 1922 in Footville, Wisconsin to William E. Martin and Louise Carroll Martin. She was a long time resident of Berwyn, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Helen Martin of Footville, WI. She is survived by her six children (and their spouses): Steven (Patty Beckmann), Michelle Arnold (Victor), Kent (Colleen), Dean (Mary Kay), Keith and Janine Giancana (Carmen). She was the proud grandmother of twelve grandchildren: Karla and Craig Holland, Eric and Michael Holland, Melissa Arnold Kontaridis (Chris), Katherine and Angel Arnold, Vincent and Nicholas Giancana, Ashley and Amber Terry and Anna Beckmann Venhaus (Ryan). She was also great-grandmother to Caitlin and Alexandra Kontaridis and Madelyn Venhaus. Margery was a Registered Nurse who worked for many years in the Obstetrics Department of MacNeal Hospital, Berwyn, IL., helping generations of families welcome new members of their families. She also served in the United States Army Nurse Corp as a Lieutenant during World War II, stationed in Spokane, WA and San Antonio, TX. A Celebration of Life will be held at Klas' Restaurant, 5734 W. Cermak, Cicero, IL. on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 5 PM. A memorial Mass will be said at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Footville, WI on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 9:30 AM. Following the service, internment will occur at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Janesville, WI. Charitable donations can be made to the American Legion.
