Margaret Kathryn Saher

Margaret Kathryn Saher, 92, grew up in the Pilsen District of Chicago as a "good Bohemian girl." After graduation from Farragut High School, she first worked as a statistical typist and then began her career as a keypunch operator with computers. The Western Suburbs became her home after she moved back to the Chicago Area after a short move to California. Margaret was always the life of the party with family and friends dancing at every opportunity she could. Gracing many dance floors listening to the big bands, she was a member of the Fred Astaire Dance Studio and frequented Melody Mill Ballroom. She loved to play cards with her family and friends at the community center at Lyons Grove Apartments where she has lived for several years. Margie also enjoyed going to the casinos in the area for fun with some of her friends.

Anyone who knew her understood that she was an outspoken, strong-willed, independent woman who lived alone most of her life. She loved to discuss politics with everyone she met. Having a great sense of humor Margaret loved to tease people and laugh, especially if it was a gotcha moment. Nothing could get her down as she survived many hurdles in life. She loved visiting her daughter's family in Michigan and enjoyed the "lake life" there. Her grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces were a delight in her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Everett) Harpole, (Saint Joseph, MI); and her grandchildren, Sarah Myles, (Lincoln Park, Chicago, IL) Jason (Sharla) Harpole, (Kalamazoo, MI) Sarah (Gary) Skinner, (Niles, Mi) Laura Stover (Buchanan, MI); two brothers, Albert (Berniece) and Vince Saher; as well as two sisters, Ann (Edward) Dedera and Libby (Robert) Wolf all pre-deceased her.

Margaret was loved by her family and will be missed greatly.
