Margaret was also a founding board member of the CDC Foundation of which I am President and CEO. She served as our second Board chair and, in that role, was both a wise mentor to me and was very instrumental in setting a strategic direction for the CDC Foundation that led to great success. To many of us in the Foundation world, Ms. Mahoney was truly the Grand Dame of Philanthropy in this country. She was a very wise woman, a Thinker, who used carefully chosen words to convey her keen thoughts with great precision. She will be deeply missed by many.
