Margaret Lombardo Obituary

Margaret Lombardo, age 85, a resident of Glen Ellyn since 1952, passed away March 1, 2012 at Johnston Healthcare Center in Carol Stream. Margaret was born December 2, 1926 in Chicago, IL. She was a member of Catholic Daughters at St. Petronille Catholic Church, volunteered with the Glen Ellyn Park District and with Wise Penny in Wheaton and was an active member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. Margaret worked at DuPage County Convalescent Center, 7 years as a nurse's aid and 23 years as a supervisor. She is survived by her children, Lena (Bill) Nippert of West Chicago, Charles (Randi) of Cape Coral, FL; grandchildren, Bill, Christopher, Charles, Michael, Lynn; great-grandchildren, Bill, Haley, Lindsey, Bennett, Charles, Anthony, Jaxon; sisters, Lena and Belle. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Lucy, Antoinette, Roy, Sarah, and Mary. Visitation was held Sunday, March 3, 2012 at the Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn. Funeral Mass was held at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Glendale Heights. Interment Mount Carmel Cemetery in Hillside. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville FL 32256 appreciated. Arrangements handled by Leonard Memorial Home, (630) 469-0032.
