Margaret Hanlon Obituary

Sweet lady. Fond memories of summer visits. My sister Marg and I stayed one summer and were exposed to new and exciting things we country girls were not used to. Even a visit to O'Hare Airport back in the days when anyone could just go there to watch the planes take off and land (WAY before all the security there is now!)

As a child I spent some times in summer with Margaret and family. I remember playing lots of Candyland with my cousins. She taught me tailoring, helping me make a suit for 4-H that got me to the state fair (years ago!). A talented and good woman.

I stayed with cousin Margaret for a summer when I first moved to the Chicago area in 1984, before my apartment lease in the city began. She kept a beautiful house and had wonderful Abyssinian cats. I remember buying her a case of Heineken as a "Thank You". It was always a pleasure when she had family gatherings, and playing cards in the basement. I miss her and all my Hanlon cousins now that I've moved to California but hope for a croquet rematch in the future and know the past generations will be looking down at us and smiling.

I liked Margaret so much. I'm glad we had a chance to visit her this year, and that my children were able to meet her.
