In Loving Memory of Margaret "Meg" Duranty
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret "Meg" Duranty, a woman full of life, love, and kindness. She leaves behind a legacy of positivity and compassion that touched everyone she met.
Meg dedicated much of her life to helping others, beginning her career as a nurse before transitioning to her many roles at Nazareth Academy. There, she became a beloved presence, treating every student with warmth and respect, regardless of their circumstances. Her ability to uplift others and make everyone feel seen and valued left an indelible mark on the school and its community.
Beloved wife of Charles "Chuck" Duranty, she was the proud and devoted mother of four children: Brad, Kevin, Emily, and Brian and a cherished Nana to seven grandchildren - Quinn, Owen, Tommy, Will, Grace, Henry, and Cal. Her love extended to her children's families, including Emily's husband, John Grogan; Brad's wife, Kelsey Duranty; and Kevin's fiancée, Megan Dart.
Known for her infectious positivity and boundless energy, Meg had a rare gift for bringing joy to any moment. She was the heart of her family and a beacon of kindness in her community. Her vibrant personality, dedication to others, and unwavering love will be remembered forever.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 27th, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Alexine Chapel at Nazareth Academy in La Grange Park. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, December 28th, at 10:00 AM at Saint Francis Xavier Church in La Grange. Meg's family invites all who would like to celebrate her life to join them for a luncheon at Premier Catering and Events of Countryside following the funeral services at 12:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Nazareth Academy in support of adolescent mental health services.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and the countless lives she touched. She was a shining light in this world and will be deeply missed.
