Maree Oros Short, died in her sleep, October 5, 2015, in Buhler, KS. She was born January 5, 1923, in Trauger, PA, one of four children of Mary (Visakay) Oros and John Oros.
Her smile would light up the room. When words no longer came at age 92, Maree Short's smile still brought joy to those around her. A devoted wife and mother, accomplished artist, and fashion model in her early years all contributed to the unique flair Maree brought to her world.
Until his death in 1997, William Short, a WWII Army veteran, was her husband of 49 years. Bill and Maree moved from Chicago to Downers Grove and later Westmont. They were members of Naperville Country Club. Her last years were near her daughter in the Washington D.C. area and later Kansas.
Maree is survived by her daughter, Leslie; and grandchild, Jay.
There will be a private inurnment next to her husband at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois, at a later date.
