Manuel "Manny" Barcia Alonso, age 89, of Downers Grove, Illinois; beloved husband of Carmen Gonzalez Barcia; loving father of Joseph (Joy) Barcia, Lydia (Mark) Barcia Janick, and Dorothy (Kevin) Barcia-Greaney; beloved Lelo of Andrea, Rachel, Alex, Julia, Matea, Natalia, Marco, David (Lauren) and great grandson Joey; cherished brother of Ricardina (the late Fernando) Arribi, Jesus (Fina) Barcia, and the late Andres (the late Hermelina) Barcia; loved uncle and friend to many.
Manny and Carmen immigrated from their hometown Cedeira, Spain in 1969 and made Downers Grove, Illinois their second home. Manny was happiest when he was surrounded by family, friends and his loving grandchildren.
Manny came to the United States to work for Rexnord Corporation and retired after a long fulfilling career as a Mechanical Engineer.
Memorial Visitation Friday, February 17th, 9:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Mass, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 4801 Main Street, Downers Grove, IL 60515. Immediately following Mass, family and friends will meet for Inurnment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery (Main Office), 1400 S. Wolf Road, Hillside, IL 60162.
