Lynn Kavanagh Obituary
Lynn A. Kavanagh, nee Delaney, of Homer Glen, passed away September 13, 2015. She was a well-loved teacher, that dedicated her life to children.
Beloved wife of Terrence Kavanagh; dearest mother of the late Joseph (Victoria) Kavanagh, Thomas (Lisa) Kavanagh, Elizabeth (Matthew) Biscan, Brendan (Billi) Kavanagh, and Colleen (Nicholas) Yerkes; cherished grandmother of Elyse, Claire, Emma, Caitlin, Jack, Daniel, Michael, Molly, Margaret, Aubrey, Samuel, Anne, and Catherine; adored sister of Stanton, Keith, and Laurel; fond aunt of numerous nieces & nephews.
Visitation was Thursday, September 17, 2015, from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St., Lemont. Lying in state Friday, September 18, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, 608 Sobieski St., Lemont, Interment Private.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research fund at www.ocrf.org/donatenow or to SS. Cyril & Methodius School.

We are so sorry to hear that Lynn has died... She was a wonderful listener and we loved hearing her stories about her kids!

A devastating loss
When my son became friends with Lynn's grandson Danny it was evident from the start that he had a very special grandma.I was in awe of her devotion to her grandchildren.I also realized pretty quickly that she was a devoted mother to her own children involving herself in their daily lives.My son spent many happy hours at her home and was welcomed into the heart of their family.I especially enjoyed her company at the various school events she attended,she was funny and full of life.I was inspired by her exuberant personality and I appreciated the pearls of wisdom she offered to me as a mother still raising children.
I will miss seeing her around school but I know she will live on in the hearts of all who knew her,she was a very special woman and I feel privileged to have known her.

At such a sad time, we take comfort that we were blessed to have Lynn in our lives. The best... totally selfless...and in the words of one of her many beautiful grandchildren "God was looking for the most beautiful flower for heaven..."

Lynn was a pleasure to know and a great asset to our family when Matt married Liz. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and all of the lives she touched. We loved Lynn Kavanagh so much. She was a legend in the McKenzie family. Our mom's "best friend in the whole entire world" as they used to say. Their phone conversations were endless.Her oatmeal cookies, lasagna, laughter, kindness, generosity, enthusiasm, joie de vivre - unmatched. There will never be another like her. Except for you guys!!! And maybe all those grandkids!!! And their kids... Oh we miss her so much, and we are all so sad. Love to everyone! Molly, Maggie, Liz and Trica, and Don and especially Patsy
