Margaret Churnock Obituary

Margaret Ann "Peggy" Churnock, 71, of Taylor died Saturday at Hospice Community Care, Dunmore. Her husband is Fred Churnock. They celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary Dec. 28.

Born Aug. 6, 1937, daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Ferguson Gibbs, she was a 1955 graduate of West Scranton High School and worked as a driver for NEIU. Before retirement, she was the bookkeeper for Penn Creative, Old Forge. She was a member of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church and her favorite pasttime was quilting.

Also surviving are three sons, Michael Kozlowski, Newton; Bernie Kozlowski, Harrisburg; and Stephen Kozlowski, Hawaii; two daughters, Mary Jo Wright, Pittsburgh; and Diane Waters, Clarks Summit; a brother, Thomas Gibbs, Lake Ariel; four sisters, Jean Kochmanski, Michigan; Kathy Cuillo, Scranton; Georgina Patchowski, Throop; and Georgetta Davies, Scranton; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mass will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, Prospect Avenue, Scranton, to be celebrated by the Rev. Paul McDonnell. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, Old Forge.
