Died: April 29, 2023
Louanne Marsha Mitchell (née Colgren), age 88, of Downers Grove, IL passed away on April 29th, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Robert Leonard Mitchell. Loving mother of Karen Sue Mitchell of Williams Bay, WI and David James Mitchell of Highlands Ranch, CO. Proud grandmother of Robert (Mitchell) Kielmar, Holly Mitchell, and Andrea Mitchell. Louanne was preceded in death by her parents Marshall and Ruth Colgren.
Louanne loved being a librarian for the Downers Grove library. She spent many years there and was an avid reader. She cherished time with her family, dogs, and was always loving, kind, and caring. She fondly talked about her first job working for a bank in downtown Chicago and taking the train every day to work. Her happiest times were when the family was together for vacations, holidays, and special occasions.
A funeral was held 11am Saturday, May 6th at Bronswood Cemetery, 3805 Madison St, Oak Brook. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate are encouraged to donate to the Alzheimer's Association.
