Lorraine Aucoin Obituary

WALTHAM Lorraine A. (LeBrun) Aucoin of Waltham died Wednesday evening, Feb. 6, 2008,at the Meadow Green Nursing Home in Waltham after a long illness. She was 74. Born in Waltham, she had been a life long resident. Mrs. Aucoin had been employed for over 20 years for the Waltham Supermarket at the deli counter where she was affectionately called the "bologna lady" for her giving slices to children as their parents shopped. She had worked in the cafeteria at Arkwright Insurance in Waltham. A devoted Catholic and daily communicant who loved children and animals, she enjoyed traveling and trips put on by the Stigmatine Fathers, and had been involved with the Wheels of Happiness. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Dorothy E. (Cullen) Aucoin and former wife of the late Joseph A. Aucoin. Mrs. Aucoin is survived by her sons, Thomas L. Aucoin of Pictou Landing, Nova Scotia and Joseph C. Aucoin of Bridgeton, Maine; her sisters, Louise Hamilton and Dolly LeBrun, both of Waltham; her brother, Richard LeBrun of Waltham; her dear friend, Margie Patterson of Waltham; her grandchildren, Kandice Ellen Aucoin and Kasandra Shackly, her "special granddaughter," Carlee Castteter; and her special friend, Jean Anoli. A service will held on Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. from the Brasco and Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., Waltham, with a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at Our Ladys Church, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home, Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.
