Lorene Pike Obituary

3/31/1921~6/5/2012
Our beloved Mother and Granny is now at peace after years of illness. She fought harder than anyone we have ever known. She was previously married to Courtney Goesch; later divorced. Then married John A. Pike; he died Jan. 10, 1982. Lorene was eldest one of seven sisters and one brother. During WWII she worked in an airplane factory; worked at Eimac; she was a volunteer at a Cottonwood Hospital; and later she was a much loved employee at Lou's Tavern in Murray. She always found great joy in caring for her flowers and gardening. Survived by sisters, Dorothy Leavitt, Jean Dudley; daughter, Sharon Lancaster; grandson, Jon Lancaster. "We'll miss you, Granny!"
Graveside services will be held at Murray City Cemetery, Friday, June 8, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. under the direction of Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary.

Not a day goes by that I'm not reminded of how much I miss you. Hard to believe it's been a year already. Many memories from my childhood with you and Grandpa have me smiling still.

X-mas 2006.

Sharon & Jon, I'm so sorry Rene is gone. She was a loving, kind person who would help anyone. Her presence is greatly missed. The love she gave to me cannot be purchased. It is pricelss, I'm so glad that she is not suffering anymore. She was a courageous friend. Love is repaid by love only, & Rene gave me so much. I miss you Rene.
Sharon & Jon, May you find peace thru this time of grieving & loss. Know that you are both loved. Words cannot express the love I have for both of you.

My relationship with my Grandma (Granny) was not an ordinary one. In some ways she was more like my second Mother, but we were like best friends. I could always talk to her about anything...and she would always be there. During the last several years she had been struggling so hard - she fought harder than anyone I've ever known. Tuesday, June 5th, during early evening, she took her last breath and peacefully passed away. Now, she can finally rest; finally no pain; no more suffering and falling down because her legs were so swollen. She was always there for me. I will miss you so much more than you'll ever know - goodbye Granny, I love you (and don't worry, I'll feed the cat.) Say hello to Grandpa for us, we truly miss him as well.

I am so sorry for your loss Sharon. What a wonderful daughter you were to your mom, & I am sure she appreciated everything you did for her. Take comfort in knowing you did all you could to make things easier for her. My thoughts are with both you & Jon.
