Lois Prather Obituary

Lois Glos Prather, a resident of Tupelo Mississippi died on November 5th, 2010 after a long illness. She was born April 20, 1928 to Clarence John Glos and his wife Elma Margaret Schultz Glos of Bellwood, Illinois. She graduated from Proviso Township High School and then from Carleton College of Northfield, Minnesota with honors. She married Thomas A. Prather on February 14th, 1953 in Chicago, IL and they lived in Elmhurst and Glen Ellyn, IL. She worked for Press Publications and then was the first parish secretary for St. Barnabus Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn. In 1974 the family moved to Tupelo, MS where she became parish secretary for All Saints Episcopal Church for over 22 years, also was a lay reader, chalice bearer, member of the choir and altar guild. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 57 plus years, a daughter Anne Boone (Mal) of Asheville, NC and a son Tom Prather of Houston, TX. A Requiem Eucharist was held at All Saints on November 8th and burial was in the Prather Family plot in Hickman, Kentucky City Cemetery on November 10th, 2010. Memorials to St Barnabus Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn , Illinois, appreciated.

Anne and Tommy,
Read of your mom's passing in this week's Glen Ellyn News. My sincerest sympathies. Your mom had such unique style. I have fond memories of babysitting at your home.
