Died: April 30, 2022 in LaGrange, IL
Lois (Johnson) Phelps 81, of Western Springs passed away peacefully on April 30, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert Johnson and Beatrice (Vaughn) Johnson and her husband Robert D. Phelps III. Beloved mother of Suzy Phelps and Wendy Phelps Neale (David). Grandmother to Keegan, Lindsey, and Bode Neale. A brother to Ralph Johnson. A memorial service will be held on June 18, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Western Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Western Springs or the The Theatre of Western Springs.

I want to send my condolences to Suzy and Wendy and Ralph. Lois was an amazing and loving person. After I moved to the DC area, Lois came out for a couple of business trips and we met up to have dinner. She was a wonderful cousin to me and I was a few years younger than her. I will always remember all of our family get togethers for birthdays when we grew up in the Peoria area and our get togethers at the Vaughn farm in southern Illinois. She will definitely be missed.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Lois my whole life. She was a good person and fun. We laughed often at our family gatherings. I truly miss her. I know how much she loved her family and loved being with them. We send our love and support to all of you with our prayers for you.

I strongly desire to attend Lois's service but not able to do so. Lois received scholarships, worked and paid for her four year BS degree from Bradley University. That is also where she met her husband Robert. Later she taught grade school.
