Lisa Toner Obituary

TONER--Dr. Lisa Marie, 41, died December 4, 2007 in New York City. She was born on December 4, 1966. Funeral services will be held December 7 at the College of Mount St. Vincent in the Bronx with graveside rites in Leesport, PA, on Saturday, December 8. She is survived by her parents, Hugh and Carol Toner, Leesport, PA, her brother and sister-in-law, her nephew, Hugh, aunts, uncles, and cousins. One brother preceded her in death. Dr. Toner was a member of the faculty and former department chair of the English Department at Tri-State University where she taught technical writing, international communication, and English courses. She also taught at Wheeling Jesuit University and at the University of Kentucky. She attended the College of Mount St. Vincent in New York City, receiving her B.A. in 1989. She received her Ph.D. from Purdue University in Rhetoric and Composition in 1996. She presented her academic research at national conferences.
