Lisa Kauffman Millsap, 48, of Platteville died peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2015, surrounded by her family and friends. She died on complications of lung cancer. She loved her family more than anything, and enjoyed reading, nature, hiking/walks, running, Zumba, baking and gardening.

Lisa was born in Rochester, Michigan on May 17, 1967, to Cynthia (Bartig) and Brian Kauffman. She moved around various cities in Michigan with her family and graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Social Science. Lisa moved to LaGrange, Illinois in 1990 and worked and pursued her Masters in Library Science. She loved being a librarian and promoting books and reading. She worked as a Youth Services, medical and law librarian. She married David Millsap in 1999, in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the love of her life. They moved to Baraboo, Wisconsin in 2001, built a home, and had Seth in 2003, then Olivia in 2005. She was a stay-at-home mom with some part-time library work thrown in. They relocated to Platteville in 2009 where they enjoyed an amazing life together thanks to a wonderful community.

Lisa is survived by her husband, David, a son, Seth, a daughter, Olivia, her mother, Cynthia Kauffman of Platteville; her two brother, Mark (Luz) Kauffman in Seminole, FL; Scott (Brian Bloye) Kauffman of Chicago, IL; niece, Samantha Kauffman of Chicago; her aunt, Maureen "Auntie" Hafke and many cousins in Florida. Along with many friends, in-laws, and 15 nieces and nephews on David's side of the family in the Chicago suburbs.

She was preceded in death by her father, Brian Kauffman.
