Linda Schimmel Obituary

Linda mae schimmel Linda Mae Schimmel, age 67, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2013. She is survived by two brothers, Richard John Schimmel (Susan) of Champaign, and Robert Bernard Schimmel (Martha) of Cottonwood, Arizona; three nieces, Elizabeth Schimmel-Parker, Robin Schimmel-Nicholls and Jackie Schimmel; one nephew, Robert J. Schimmel; two great nieces and two great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Nettie Schimmel. Linda spent her early life in Itasca, where she attended grade school and graduated from Lake Park High School in Medinah. After high school, she enrolled at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. She graduated from Drake with a business degree in 1968. She worked as a buyer for the Sanger Harris Department Stores in Dallas, Texas after graduation. Her retail career moved her from Dallas to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and then to San Antonio, Texas. She joined Bullock Personnel Services in San Antonio in 2000, and continued with Tri-Starr Personnel as an employment recruiter until retiring in August this year. She was a lifelong Cubs fan, and a Dallas Cowboys fan. She became an avid San Antonio Spurs fan and loved watching their games. She enjoyed playing bridge, antiquing and sharing holidays with her good friends. Linda was extremely fond of her great nieces and nephews and enjoyed visiting them.
