Leonard Mickas Obituary
Leonard V. Mickas "Poppy" age 86, Resident of Downers Grove; Leonard was the beloved husband of 55 years to Lillian Mickas, nee Bukowiecki; loving father of Maria (George) Dvorak, Carolyn (Eric) Vandenbroucke and Victoria (Lee) Kinder; proud grandfather of Dree and Josie Kinder, Shelbey, Joey and Berit Vandenbroucke, Max and Maddy Dvorak; dear brother Robert, fond uncle of many nieces, nephews and many grand nieces and nephews.
Leonard was a member of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He received his master's degree from the Art Institute of Chicago. Leonard was an Art Teacher for the Chicago Public School System, at Kelly High School for over 40 years where he also attended high school.
Memorial Visitation Thursday, July 21st, 5:00PM to 8:00PM with a Prayer Service at 7:30PM at Adams-Winterfield and Sullivan Funeral Home, 4343 Main Street (1 blk. So. of Ogden Ave.), Downers Grove. Interment Private.
