Dear Family of Leon J. Kozicki, We are sending our sincere condolences at this time of sadness. He was an accomplished and talented musician who brought lots of joy to friends and families. From IPA member Pauline V. Adelman and the Wierzgac Family.

In the 1960's Leon and I were caseworkers at the then named Audy Juvenile Detention Center in Chicago adjacent to Family Court.

When I stated my job. Leon was assigned to be my mentor. He was always patient and always very, very professional with our staff. At work, Leon dressed and looked very stylish in his nice dark blue suit, white shirt and tie.

Leon was likable and was great working with the kids we counseled. I looked up to Leon and had great respect for him as a person.

I can also tell you this, Leon was proud of his family members who he expressed his love and devotion to us many times.

Leon's second love was his polka band. He loved playing his music and entertaining folks - making them very happy when dancing!

The last time I saw Leon was at our boss, Superintendent, Jim Jorden's wake. We exchanged some great memories of our case worker days together.

Leon, you will be missed, but your spirit will be in our hearts forever. God bless you, brother!

Leon was my boss at the Detention Center. I worked alongside him from 1968 until 1983. He was such a nice man and had so many interests! Our relationship extended beyond work. Many of us who worked together in those days also socialized together, so my husband and I also knew both Virginia and Jean. Leon had a long and happy life. I knew he was failing when we didn't get our annual personal handwritten letter from him last Christmas. I know he will be missed by many, including myself, and I send sincere sympathy to the family.
