Leland Severson Obituary

Leland W. Severson, 84, of St. Cloud, Minn., died Friday at his son's home in Sauk Rapids. Leland was born April 14, 1921 in Lester Prairie to Arthur and Regina Severson. He was baptized and confirmed at Stockholm Lutheran Church in Cokato, Minn. Leland married Eleanor 'Billie' Frothinger on June 19, 1946 in Stockholm Lutheran Church in Cokato. He served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II. Leland lived in the St. Cloud area since 1968, and was a Librarian and Media Specialist for Hermantown and St. Cloud Public Schools for 30 years, retiring June 1, 1984. He was a member of Hope Covenant Church in St. Cloud where he was a church elder. Survivors include his wife, Billie of St. Cloud; daughters and sons, Sharon (Walt) Brush of Birmingham, Ala., David (Kathi) Severson of Duluth, Rebecca (Don) Hainlen of Dassel, Daniel (Cathy Jo) Severson of Sauk Rapids; brothers and sister, Merlin (Ann) Severson of Tulsa, Okla., Lyle (Janice) Severson, Rollie (Nancy) Severson, and Arden (Betty) Severson all of Cokato, and Mavis Olson of Willmar; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Leland was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Orville Severson; and sister, Marjorie Kraft. MEMORIAL SERVICES:1:30 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2006 in Hope Covenant Church, St. Cloud. Rev.
