Lee Caldwell Obituary

Lee Vance Caldwell, 63, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Artesia General Hospital in New Mexico. He was born August 13, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Vance Durmond Caldwell and Ruth Edna Caldwell. He moved to Artesia in August 1984 from Westmont Illinois. On August 1, 1984 he was married to Sharon Smith in Westmont. He was a Paid on call Fire fighter/EMT in Westmont for 10 years and a full time Fire Fighter/EMT-A with the Artesia Fire Dept. Lee was very active in training and taught the volunteers and paid fire fighters in the surrounding area before retiring. Memorial services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31, at First United Methodist Church, Artesia, New Mexico. Survivors include his wife Sharon Caldwell and daughter Katie Caldwell of Artesia; brothers. Ray Caldwell and wife Patricia of Wonder Lake, and Tim Caldwell and wife Patricia of Downers Grove; 4 nieces and 3 nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Artesia Fire Dept for training equipment and supplies or to charity of choice.
