Lawrence Burda Obituary

Lawrence Michael Burda
Lawrence Michael Burda; age 76, of Western Springs; beloved husband of Joanne (née Raineri); loving father of Kristin (Matt) Tobin of Western Springs & Lisa (Doug) Kramer of Hinsdale; proud grandfather of Matthew, Sarah, John, & William Tobin and Douglas, Daniel, & Caroline Kramer; dear brother of Richard (Laurie) Burda & Sharon (Tim) Harlow; dear uncle & friend of many.
Larry, as his friends knew him, dedicated his life to family, sports, and education. He spent his professional career as a High School Administrator at Argo High School, District 217; a baseball and football coach; and a basketball referee. His greatest joy was traveling with his family, cheering on his daughters' and grandchildren's many sports teams, and coaching young people to achieve their goals. We pray that he is standing in a pool, reading a book, and drinking a Pepsi with the sun on his face while he continues to guide our futures.
Memorial donations in Larry's name to the Economic Awareness Council (econcouncil.org) are appreciated.
Funeral arrangements are private, and entrusted to Hallowell & James Funeral Home, Countryside. (708) 352-6500

I have known Larry for over 40 years. He was our basketball assignment referee. He was a great man very kind, outspoken, but very respectful. The league will miss him immensely. My prayers and thoughts are with his family today.

55 years ago Larry was the eighth grade basketball coach at St Cletus School and I was the seventh grade coach. Our children attended school together and we spent hundreds of moments in gyms through out the are as fellow coaches, coach and referee, fan and referee but always as friends. A great friend but more so a great human being. Larry you´ll be missed. Love Bill
