Lauren Hunt Obituary

You always protected me from bullies when we were in our youth. I got picked on a lot for many years. Until you showed up at Wild Rose elementary school you didn´t know me from Adam but whenever I got picked on you seemed to come out of the blue and help me. You did the same thing when we went to middle school. I just wish I could have repaid that debt I owe you. I wish I could have protected you like you protected me.

I´ll never forget you. Until we meet again.

I'm not sure why Lauren popped in my mind this morning. I remember running into her just a few weeks before she left us. I was in a really tough place and she really brightened up my heart running into her after a long time. It seems like another lifetime the grinder that we were all in 2008. Fast empty times. Ive known several people like that, that when they look at you don't judge the flaws but see the light behind the facades and that's who they addressed. That allows a person to see themselves in a new light, the true light, how God made them - not how the world conditions you to be - and then move past things. There is so much good in this world and I know Lauren made a major impact. Those ripples in the hearts of those she touched continue to bless. I know personally that when Lauren went to heaven in 2008 that it snapped allot of us that were on rough roads out of where we were. I think I became a Christ follower a year or so later, but I know that June 2008 is when I really started to try and quit OxyContin, which I later did. What Im trying to say is I have 2 toddler boys, and a wonderful wife , I've seen God's hand in my life many times now, and know that if I didn't get snapped out of things in 2008 they may not be here. My heart is unbelievably sadden by your horrific loss. Lauren was such a kind-hearted and beautiful woman. It has been years since I have seen her but her presence in my childhood will remain with me forever. Lauren was the first friend I could truly be myself with. Her open-minded smile and sensitive heart were always there to support me, even when she was a child. We had incredible imaginations together; Lauren shaped my spirit with her bursting and creative personality. She will forever remain in the most treasured areas of my heart. I was close with Lauren during middle school, and regardless of what has happened I always knew I would never forget her. Taking dance classes, prank calling boys, sleeping outside on the trampoline, and of course her beautiful smile. She will never be forgotten and my memories with her will always be embraced. Lauren and I spent the majority of our childhood years together and have seen each other through everything. She was like a sister; growing up she always welcomed me with an open heart and open mind, and I will always cherish the wonderful memories of our friendship. I have stood at the brink of where you are now and cringed with fear at the thought of what the next step would bring. All those feelings rushed back to me when I heard about Lauren. God is even now swaddling Lauren in His mercy as you once wrapped your infant daughter for security and love. May you, too, feel the divine hug of love and grace. I'll never forget seeing Lauren with Patty Masters on my birthday last year. She was onstage with Dick, Joel and Oliver in Wasco I think. Her voice was that of an angel and she was SO SO beautiful. No matter what or where it was, it was ALWAYS such a treat to see her. She just glowed.
Reading all the entries here just makes me smile to think of how she just made people happy. Now she is happy and smiling for eternity. As a mother I cannot begin to imagine the pain you feel... May God keep you close and bring you comfort. I am SO SO sorry for your loss.

Dear Hunt Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I met Lauren at the Rock Climbing Gym in Rockford. We went on a road trip for Spring Break one year with friends and she was truly wonderful to be around. She was an awesome climber and many great memories were made.

We are very sorry for your loss. All of my kids knew Lauren through school and at times, she even stopped by our home. She was so beautiful and talented with a voice like no other. That was evident in 5th grade when she sang a solo at Wildrose School. When we heard the news on the 19th so early in the morning, we were all shocked and saddened for the family. With the anticipation of Leslie's wedding, no one could have known what was to be. Thank God, your family and friends are here for you. Just know that everyone is thinking of you and hoping you can find the strength to go on and heal, as time will allow this for you. She left her mark and Heaven is now a more beautiful place with Lauren there.

I heard the terrible news this morning, and my mind has been clouded with sorrow all day. How could something this tragic happen? Only God can say. Many places in Scripture tell us that we will have horrible suffering in our lives.
