Laurance Meyer Obituary
Laurance J. Meyer, age 88; beloved husband of the late Joan E. Meyer, nee Bresnahan, loving father of Gregory (Karen) Meyer, Patricia (Victor) Orler and John (Kristen) Meyer; cherished grandfather of Michelle and Chris Meyer; Victor, Holden (Tierney), Cooper and the late Thomas Orler; Teagan, Ryan and Brendan Meyer.
Laurance received his undergraduate degree and a law degree from University of Iowa. He served during the Korean War. He was a member of Downers Grove Jaycees, served as President of the Downer Grove school board, served as president of the Good Samaritan Club, served as an Iowa law School Foundation Trustee, served as a Board Member of Family Service of DuPage County, and served on the Downers Grove Plan Commission. Laurance and his wife established the Laurance and Joan Meyer Merit Scholarship Fund for Iowa Law students. Laurance was a retired partner from Arthur Andersen and Company.
Visitation was Wednesday, September 26th, 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home, 4343 Main St., (1 blk. So. of Ogden Ave.) Downers Grove. Family and Friends met for Funeral Mass Thursday, September 27th, 10:00AM at St. Joseph Church, 4801 Main St., Downers Grove. Interment Private.
