Laura Jean Maxwell, nee Tompkins, age 84, a 28 year resident of Downers Grove, IL passed away. Beloved mother of Barbara I. Maxwell and Bruce A. Maxwell; cherished grandmother of Thomas C. O'Rourke and Susan O. (David) Hersh; fond aunt of several nieces and nephews and many dear cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Chester A. and her mother, Flossie V.; her brothers, Arthur L. and Stanley K. and her dear companion, Charles J. Hora. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for over 60 years, Chicago-Downers Grove-Lombard, past worthy Matron Queen Esther Chapter of Chicago, Daughters of the Nile of Berwyn, White Shrine of Jerusalem of Berwyn and 19th Century Club of Oak Park, IL.
