Larry Paxton Obituary

Larry Thomas Paxton

Evansville, Ind.

Larry Thomas Paxton, 60, originally from Newburgh, replaced Saint Peter as Heavens door greeter on November 6, 2017.

Best known as "Paxton" to many friends, and "Achoo" by Mister and Sister, he was most fond of being called "Daddy"

Larry graduated from Evansville Reitz Memorial in 1975, The University Of Southern Indiana in 1987, where he also received his Masters in Secondary Education specializing in Special Education. He was proud to have been a part of St. Vincent Day Care, Helfrich Park Middle School, and Boonville Middle Schools education teams.

Larry was a devout Cleveland Indians fan. He practiced his faith in The Tribe every year by proclaiming "this could be the year for our World Series ring".

Larry was a Master Gardner for Christ planting many "seeds" in others all while being an example of how to be a Christ follower, a husband, a father, son, brother, teacher, and friend.

His lasting legacy is his daughter, Baileigh Adair, who he infamously called "Poot" as well as many young people who affectionately became "his kids".

In addition to Baileigh, his wife Lisa (Groeninger), two sisters, one brother, seven nephews, and five nieces have been charged with continuing to "plant seeds".

A Celebration Of Life will be held at Olivet Community Church, 5600 Oak Hill Road, Evansville, Indiana, on Saturday November 11th, with meet, greet and reminisce to begin at 11am and services at 1pm. Please consider wearing your favorite sporting attire as Larry would have loved that.

Donations can be made to the Amyloidosis Research Consortium or directly to the family to help with medical expenses.

Thank you Cassie and the Heritage Hospice team for caring for Larry as if he were family.

Arrangements are in the care of Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel. Sympathy wishes to the family may be shared at www.titzerfuneralhomes.com.
