Kimberly Buck Obituary

Kimberly A. Buck, 47, a current resident of Geneva, IL for 1½ years, previous resident of Glen Ellyn for over 20 years, passed away June 26, 2008 in Geneva, IL. Kimberly was born February 19, 1961 in Hinsdale, IL. She was a Nurse Manager for the Pediatric Unit at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago. Kim was the Glen Ellyn Columnist for the Daily Herald for 6 plus years. She had a lifelong hobby of doll & dollhouse collecting. She was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan, avid reader, writer and craft show enthusiast. She had a love for life and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an inspiration to many as she battled her chronic illnesses and repeatedly beat the odds. Kim will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Loving mother of Corey Barenbrugge; devoted daughter of Beth Wood & Jerry Buck; dearest sister of Jerry Jr. (Lisa) & Callie (John) Momtazee; beloved aunt of Rachel, Alexandria, Jerry, Samantha, Julia & John and a fond niece of Judith (Dan) Hanley & Carol (Tom) Hilbert. Judith, Kim's aunt, gave Kimberly the gift of life by donating her kidney to Kim in 1992. Visitation Sunday, June 29, 2008 from 3 - 7 p.m. at Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn. Mass Monday, June 30, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn. Interment Forest Hills Cemetery in Glen Ellyn, IL. Kim never missed a Ron Santo walk for Juvenile Diabetes & volunteered as a nurse for the Juvenile Diabetes summer camp for kids. Therefore in lieu of flowers, donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 500 N. Dearborn, Ste. 305, Chicago, IL 60610, would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements handled by Leonard Memorial Home, (630) 469-0032.
