Kim Giazzon Obituary
Kim Giazzon, age 47, passed away May 21, 2016 with her family and friends by her side.
She was preceded in death by her brother. Jeffrey Jon Giazzon.
Kim is survived by her parents. Robert A. and Christel nee Renner Giazzon; her husband, Michael Strupp; a brother, Robert C. Giazzon; sister-in-law, Maria Odenkirk; her nieces and nephew, Brenna, Cadence, and Adam Giazzon; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Kim was smart, independent, loving, kind and generous. An outgoing spirit, she was always eager to lend a helping hand when needed. Kim was an ardent supporter of abused and neglected animals; she participated in numerous charities that helped find loving homes for abandoned cats and dogs, and also participated in neuter-and-release efforts for feral cats. Although Kim wasn't an avid sports fan, no summer was complete without attending at least one game of both the White Sox and Kane County Cougars. She was also a big fan of Frank Sinatra, Wilco and Jimmy Buffett. Kim was a 1990 graduate of Bradley University in Peoria, IL from which she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Marketing. While attending college she was a proud member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
Kim's entire career was spent as a professional in the retail industry. Some of her previous employment included working for Crate & Barrel as a Planning Manager, also the former Marshall Fields, Spiegel, and May Company. Most recently she had been employed with Ulta, Inc. in Bolingbrook, IL as an Inventory Analyst. Earlier in her career, Kim traveled the world as a fashion buyer, going to Europe, Hong Kong, and India, among other destinations. She also enjoyed traveling closer to home, whether it was hiking in Montana, fly-fishing in Colorado, vacationing in South Haven, Michigan, or watching fireworks in Madison, Wisconsin. She will be missed dearly.
Funeral services Wednesday, May 25, 2016, 9:30 a.m. from Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St. Lemont, IL 60439 for 10 a.m Mass at St. Alphonsus Church. Interment Fairmount-Willow Hills Memorial Park. Visitation Tuesday 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.

We were so fortunate to meet Kim through Elaine and Lou Lepore's New Year's bashes and we wish we had made more time to get to talk with her. What a beautiful woman she was. Her obit is wonderful; such an accomplished lady, and deeply loved. Our hearts are with you all and we wish upon you strength and serenity. We are thinking of you. I met Kim at Bradley's freshman orientation and knew we'd have a lot of fun those 4 years spent in college. She was a joy to be around, great sense of humor, and unique personality. She will be greatly missed.
