Kenneth Jirgl Obituary
Kenneth "Butch" Jirgl, age 69, of Lemont, passed away September 5, 2015.
Member of I.B.E.W. Local 134, past member of the National Association of Power Engineers, former Electrical Inspector for the City of Darien. Owner of Al's Electric and Lighting in Lemont. He was the Superintendent of Maintenance at Lewis University and for School District 230, Carl Sandburg High School. He was an avid classic car enthusiast.
Preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Stella Jirgl; a sister, Lorraine Pencak; and his beloved uncle, Frank Froch.
Survived by his wife, Verene, nee Collins, Jirgl; two children, Sheri (Corby) Schmitz and Jack (Kara) Jrigl; his grandchildren, Imogen Schmitz, and Cole, Gabriel and Isaac Jirgl; a sister, Kathy (Bob) Koch; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services Thursday, September 10, 2015, 9:30 a.m. from Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St. Lemont, to St. Patrick Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Bernard Cemetery, Downers Grove. Visitation Wednesday, 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.

It is with great sadness that we learned of Butch's passing. Sincere condolences, prayers and thoughts to Verene, Sheri, Jack and their families. We hold warm memories of Butch's involment at school and St Pat's through out the years Maria taught there. He was also ready to spend time talking and caring for his friends and neighbors. We will miss him dearly.

WOW! I just came across this news! Our deepest sympathy, to Vereen, Jack, Sheri, & Family. Spent many years, in Lemont Campers Club together. Butch was a great guy! A wonderful sense of humor, and extremely devoted to his family! Lots of great memories together, and stories sitting at a campfire, while camping. God Bless Jirgl Family! You all are in our prayers!

Our deepest sympathies to you all. Butch was a great neighbor with an amazing sense of humor. We loved seeing Butch walking down the street because we always knew the conversation would be lively.
