Keith Latz Obituary

I am so sorry and saddened by the death of Keith. He Was a fair and honest village trustee, but more importantly an friendly and community loving person. Eternal rest be granted to him and peace to his family.

As a kid, Keith's brother Jeff and I spent a lot of time playing sports with the Ridge Road and Kettering Lane gang. It was a different time back then - a time when teenage boys would argue and fight but no one was ever seriously hurt. Admittedly, there were times when the Class of '79 guys (of which I was a member) would need to be "straightened out" by the older guys that lived in the area. Often, that "process" was not fun - but when Keith took charge, it was different. He was the calm voice of maturity in the crowd - and he treated all of us with a level of respect that we probably didn't earn or deserve. With Keith's passing, the Ridge Road and Kettering Lang gang loses a brother, but the Lemont Community loses a tireless worker, a servant leader, a giver and an overall great guy. My deepest sympathies go out to the entire Latz Family. You are and will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers - and I'm sure that goes for the entire Ridge Road and Kettering Lane gang.

Roger and I are very sorry to hear about Keith. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Deepest sympathy to the entire Latz family. I knew Keith all my life from growing up on Ridge Road, through my days at St. Cyril's and participating in Lemont Sports. He was a giver of time and energy to Lemont! He will be missed.

All of my thoughts and prayers are with the Latz family. What an awesome and involved family they are. I spent a lot of my childhood days at their house, and I could always count on Mr. Latz to make me laugh. My heart goes out to all of you, he was a special man with so many special memories.

We want to express our deepest sorrow at Keith's passing. We think fondly of the time we spent together coaching our kids in little league. Keith worked so hard to teach the boys baseball. Though his self less efforts the team improved and the results were evident on the field. We had so much fun and joy that summer. We will miss him dearly.

Thank you for always making Lemont a better place and truly lived the meaning of our village, the village of faith. May you rest in peace.

So sorry for your loss. Just talked with Kieth Saturday night catching up on family and life for awhile. Shocked and saddened. Great man, loved his quick laugh and great football commentary. He will be missed.

We were so saddened to hear, that a true Lemonter, and family friend, for many years, has gone to eternal rest. Keith, was a one of a kind guy, who worked very hard to make his community a better place. He had such a great personality, and a wonderful sense of pride. Our prayers go out to the entire Latz Family, at this difficult time. God Bless all of you.

I still remember Keith playing the goalie position in a grade school hockey game that I organized with fellow classmates from SSCM. I believe it took place in 1974. The opposing team was short a goalie so he stepped in in his street clothes. The rest of us had skates and gloves and a few players also had shin guards. He took a couple of shots to the shins from me which he was not to happy about but he finished the game like a trooper. Thanks for the great memory Keith and may your native soil weigh lightly upon your slumber!

I am saddened by this news. Keith was quite a contributor to his community to say the least. I grew up in the same neighborhood as Keith, but didn't really get to know him until, he walked into the Doctor's office where I worked, he was a Medical Rep at the time. Keith was,a very nice person. RIP Keith....

Shocking to hear of Keith's Sudden Passing. A Good Man, He will surely be missed, I had the pleasure of knowing with him thru the Jimbos Pizza Player of the Game Awards for years. I am truely stunned. My prayers go out to family & friends for Peace and Comfort in this difficult time. I know Keith is Walking with Our Lord, I find solice in that. Godspeed Keith
