Kathleen O'Brien Obituary

Kathleen "Kay" O'Brien, 82, a longtime resident of LaGrange, passed away at Adventist LaGrange Memorial Hospital. Kay was born January 12, 1926 in Chicago, IL. Before retiring, she was employed as a Medical Secretary at Hines VA Hospital. Kay was a member of the National Association of Federal Employees. Visitation was held Sunday at Hallowell & James Funeral Home 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Funeral Mass was Monday, October 27 at St. Barbara Church in Brookfield. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside. Wife of the late Francis A.; loving mother of Kevin, Patrick (Teresa), Maureen (Richard) Feirick and the late Mary Kathleen O'Brien; devoted grandmother of Kelly (Peter), Meghan, John, Erin, Kristin, Jeanette, Shannon, Matthew, Brian, Sean, Ronnie and the late Katie; great-grandmother of Kevin; fond sister of Patricia Picha and sister-in-law of Mary T. McMahon; dear cousin of Mary Riley. Funeral arrangements handled by Hallowell & James Funeral Home, (708) 352-6500.

My deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother. She was a super lady. I remember all the friday afternoons I would spend with her while my mother was still at work. I also remember the fun my daughter, Marci, would spend at your house. I remember all the good times we had as neighbors.
