KAM HONG Obituary

Kam Fung Chan Hong 1929 ~ 2011 Kam Fung Chan Hong, 81, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 14, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Kam was born on October 15, 1929 in Canton, China to Chan Yau Lung and Lau Fung Hei. She was married to George Lun Hong for 65 years and they had three children. She lived in Hong Kong before moving to Salt Lake City in 1966. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and taking care of her home. She was a positive woman and always had a smile on her face. Her role in life was being a caregiver to her family; always making sure their needs were taken care of before her own. She is survived by her husband, George; children: Ginger Lee, Howard (Carol), and Tim (Marjorie); grandchildren: Belinda, Christine, Regina (Jerred), Minna (Ben), Sariah, Jonathan, and Kasey; great grandchildren: Brendan, Samantha, and Brianne. Preceded in death by her parents, brother, and son-in-law, James. Kam will be greatly missed by those who knew her and especially by her family. She has greatly enriched their lives and they will always continue to carry her in their hearts. We love you and know we will be together again. Viewing will be held at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple in Salt Lake City from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21. Funeral service will be held following the viewing at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at the Salt Lake City Cemetery following the funeral.
