Jospeh Ziomek Obituary

Joseph Ziomek, 88, of Berwyn, formerly of Lyons, passed away on June 16, 2008 at his Berwyn home. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, from 4 to 9 p.m. at Tower Home for Funerals, 4007 S. Joliet Ave., Lyons with at 10:00 a.m. service on Saturday. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL. Mr. Ziomek was retired from being a union bricklayer for 50 years. He worked for the D.H. Johnson Company. Mr. Ziomek was a radio operator for the Army and a Veteran of WWII. He was a life member of the Emil Scheive American Legion Post #699 in Lyons, IL. He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, his vegetable garden, Wheel of Fortune and gaming on the Mississippi River. Mr. Ziomek was the beloved husband of the late Wanda; cherished father of Diane (Gary) Brown, Kurt (Sandy), Joel, Eugene (Leslie) Ziomek, Janice (Mike) Matveychik; dear brother of Dorothy Chitwood, late John Moore, late Helen Herbert, late Ted, late Steven and late Stella Zito; grandfather of 6.
