Joseph Anthony Simon, age 85, of Bolingbrook passed away on October 13, 2015. Joseph was born on October 27, 1929, and was raised in Cicero, IL.

Joseph worked for 41 years at Sears, Roebuck & Co. as a fixture developer at the corporate offices at Homan Avenue & Arthington Street, and later at the Sears Tower in Chicago, IL. Joseph and his wife, Gladys, literally built the house they lived in for 49 years in Westchester, IL and raised four children there. In 2004, they moved to Las Vegas, NV to enjoy the warmer weather. In 2012, they headed back to Illinois and have lived with son Joseph to the present.

Joseph is preceded in death by both of his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth of Appleton, WI.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gladys; sister, Elaine; son, Mark Simon (Donna); daughter, Carol Lumpkins; son, Joseph Simon; son, Scott Simon (Kimberly). Grandchildren, Ashley Lumpkins and Erik Lumpkins.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Bolingbrook, IL at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2015. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL will be private.
