O'BRIEN, Joseph P. Of Somerville, February 8, 2009 peacefully at home after enjoying every day of his life. Beloved husband of Elizabeth M. (Kiernan). Loving father of John and his wife Mary of Stow, Paul and his wife Kathy of Wakefield, Daniel O'Brien and his wife Betty Ann of Chelmsford. Loving grandfather of Christopher, Andrew, Matthew, Kevin, Meghan, Christine and Laurel. Brother of the late Mary, Robert and William. Brother in law of Mary T., Joseph, and the late Harry Kiernan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral procession fromthe George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) SOMERVILLE, Thursday morning at 10 am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, Somerville, at 11 am. Relatives and friends invited. Calling hours Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Past Vice President Carmen's Union Local #589. Late Veteran US Army WWII. Longtime parishioner and communicant St. Joseph Parish, Somerville.
