Joe was a great pal when I lived in SF in the late '70s. We went to many airshows and fly-ins together and I always hung on every word he said about his experiences during WWII. I still have some of his original photos. Though we lost contact sometime in the '80s, I never forgot Joe and often reminisce about our wee adventures together in aviation. My belated condolences to the family. Joe was one of a kind and I'll always remember him with great fondness.

I'll miss driving by and seeing Joe building something. I'll miss the jokes and seeing the pride and joy that he took in his koi. I am sorry for your loss.
